With experience and empathy, Leah develops customized solutions to help employers solve their people challenges.

Having grown up in a very large and tight-knit Minnesota farm family, Leah values relationships above all else. She’s quick to say it’s her love of people that inspires her each day.

Since joining the firm in 2016, Leah has helped employers find creative ways to overcome HR and payroll challenges. Whether it’s developing a motivating employee performance evaluation program, implementing an integrated HR/payroll system, or designing strategies to improve engagement, Leah and her team seek what’s best for both the organization and its people.

Having owned and operated an outsourced HR and payroll consulting business for nearly a decade, Leah has worked with employers across all industries. Some of her areas of specialty include HR management, leadership coaching, regulatory compliance, employee benefit plans (including the Affordable Care Act), payroll, and employee compensation. Leah also has several years of experience in public accounting. Her past experience as a business owner and public accountant give her valuable perspective on complex HR, financial and strategic planning issues.

Despite busy schedules, Leah’s extended family still makes time to connect in meaningful ways. Leah is thankful for the time they get to spend together—and for the opportunity to continue family traditions with her husband and four daughters.

What would you be doing if you weren’t an accountant?

In another life, I would LOVE to work in a library or bookstore.  I can think of nothing better than talking about, reading, and being surrounded by books all day.

What was your first job growing up?

Growing up on a family farm where we raised pigs, my first job was, of course, helping take care of the animals and the farm buildings.  I spent many summers painting and power washing barns, repairing animal pens, and helping with animal chores.

What’s your favorite part about being an accountant?

I absolutely love learning about and being trusted to help our clients’ organizations.  It’s amazing to have the privilege to partner with so many creative and passionate leaders and work together to help them thrive.
