Miranda Wendlandt, CPA, CFE

Growing up on a dairy farm, Miranda Wendlandt developed a strong work ethic that drives her professional success. With 18 years of experience in auditing and financial reporting for local government entities, she brings a grounded, plain English approach to her work at Abdo, which her clients consistently appreciate.

Miranda is passionate about collaborating with government entities and dedicated to making complex standards accessible. Her technical expertise encompasses a deep understanding of GAAP, GASB standards, and the interpretation of Uniform Grant Guidance (UGG) requirements, as well as assisting clients in strengthening their grant management processes.

Additionally, she finds great fulfillment in training others, whether they are clients or internal team members, making it one of her favorite aspects of the job.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at the lake, vacationing with my family, watching Hallmark movies, experimenting with new recipes, and spending time working at our Christmas tree farm. Our Christmas tree farm keeps us busy year‑round with planting, shearing, joining local parades, making holiday pots and wreaths, and selling trees.

What was your first job growing up?

My first job was working on my family’s dairy farm. I grew up helping with chores, feeding calves, and doing whatever needed to get done around the farm.

What’s your favorite part about being an accountant?

Helping clients navigate complex standards in a clear, practical way. I enjoy making audits as streamlined and stress‑free as possible, turning what can feel overwhelming into a process that builds confidence and clarity.
