Jodi Bursheim

Jodi brings with her a wealth of experience from a diverse career in finance and accounting, spanning multiple industries.

Before joining Abdo, Jodi spent fourteen years as the Finance Manager for the City of Plymouth. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Finance Director for the City of St. Louis Park for seven years. In these roles, she honed her expertise in all aspects of governmental finance.

Jodi’s career also includes seven years as the Finance Director for the Midwest region of a large corporation, where she worked alongside the Vice President of Operations on numerous mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, she has experience as a controller for a non-profit organization, where she worked for six years.

With a lifetime dedicated to finance and accounting, Jodi has developed a deep understanding of the field. She is passionate about helping clients navigate the challenges within their finance departments. Her areas of expertise include budgeting, financial reviews, monthly and annual reporting, cash flow projections, evaluation and development of internal controls, and conducting financial studies such as debt studies, financial analysis, and capital projects.

Jodi’s comprehensive background and dedication to excellence make her a valuable asset to both her clients and the team at Abdo.

What would you be doing if you weren’t an accountant?

I love animals and love to travel so something between a travel vlogger and wildlife photographer.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Walking my two Bernadoodles or making travel plans for our next family adventure.

What’s your favorite part about being an accountant?

There is something incredibly satisfying about balancing numbers and ensuring accuracy. I enjoy improving processes and helping clients. I love knowing that my work can make an impact to a client.
