Jean McGann, CPA

As a dedicated volunteer, Jean is passionate about helping community-based organizations and government entities.  She is always looking ahead to the future and finding ways to succeed.

Likewise, in her role as President of AEM Financial Solutions, LLC, Jean strives to equip governments and nonprofits with a clear path to success. She believes that having the best systems in place—whether that translates to a group of engaged parents or a proven set of internal controls—is key to the longevity of any organization.

AEM Financial Solutions, a subsidiary of Abdo, is dedicated to providing day-to-day accounting and financial management services for local governments and nonprofits. Since coming on board in 2013, Jean has devoted her practice to advising and empowering her clients with solutions that mitigate costs and boost efficiency.

Jean’s ability to drive success within organizations stems from her more than 20 years of government finance and audit experience, along with six years of experience as an operations leader for a Big Four accounting firm. She is known for her strengths in the identification and implementation of cost containment processes, policy development, internal control evaluation, and project management.

When she’s not volunteering or working, Jean can be found spending time with family and friends. She resides in the Twin Cities, where she enjoys outdoor activities with her family, reading, and playing the piano.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Like many others in Minnesota, my favorite thing to do in my free time is to be at or on the lake.

What was your first job growing up?

Growing up in a small town, there were not a lot of job choices.  My first job was working in the local café as a waitress.
