Remembering Joe Abdo

ABDO, EICK & MEYERS, LLP ANNOUNCES THE PASSING OF FOUNDER JOE ABDO
Mankato, MN – December 2, 2019 – It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our founder, Joseph Abdo. Mr. Abdo established Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP in 1963 and believed in hard work, putting the clients first, and giving back to his community—the same values our firm stands by today.
Joe Abdo was born and raised in the Mankato area, and served his country in the Korean War before graduating from Mankato State College (now Minnesota State University, Mankato) with an accounting degree. He was the first in the country to pass the CPA exam before graduating college. He started the firm as a solo practitioner, and 56 years later the firm has 170 employees, 20 partners and offices in Mankato and Minneapolis. Mr. Abdo retired in 1981, and enjoyed retirement, often found on the golf course or playing cards with friends. He was extremely proud of the growth of the firm and was still a well known figure around the office.
