If you’re a “box checker” and have already checked off “filing my taxes” from your to-do list, congratulations. Now you may be wondering, “where’s my refund?” To find out, pull out your smart phone and download the IRS’s mobile app, IRS2GO. The IRS says your refund status should be available within 24 hours after it receives your e-filed return, or about four weeks after it receives your mailed paper return. The app also provides access to mobile-friendly payment options like IRS Direct Pay. This service provides a free, secure way to pay your tax bill directly from your bank account. IRS2Go can also generate login security codes for certain IRS online services.
