An incredible honor from an incredible community

October 17, 2013

Abdo, Eick & Meyers first opened its doors in downtown Mankato and today, 50 years later, still serves the Mankato community. In 2010, the firm received an incredible honor: induction into the Greater Mankato Growth Business Hall of Fame.

As the area’s chamber of commerce and economic development organization, Greater Mankato Growth is widely known throughout southern Minnesota. Its Business Hall of Fame is exclusive—only two organizations are inducted each year.

Businesses that are nominated for the award must complete a lengthy application detailing their history, leadership, and commitment to the Mankato community. “When we received notification of our induction in late 2010, we were humbled,” says Abdo, Eick & Meyers Managing Partner Steve McDonald. “To us, it meant that we were considered as part of the fabric of the Mankato community.”

The firm is proud to be among a prestigious group of past honorees that, over the past five years, has included: Lloyd Lumber (2012), Wells Federal Bank (2012), Paulsen Architects (2011), Snell Motors (2011), Mankato Independent Originals (2010), James R. Weir Insurance Company (2009), Schmidt Siding & Window Company (2009), Pathstone Living (2008), and Kaye Corporation (2008).

Although it’s been over three years since the Greater Mankato Growth’s Annual Business and Hall of Fame Awards event, Abdo, Eick & Meyers staff continue to reflect upon the event—and honor—via to a large framed photograph hung prominently in the Mankato office’s lobby.
