Affordable Care Act Requirement
September 23, 2013
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires all employers, to provide the Exchange Notice to all employees no later than October 1, 2013. We have placed the following additional information on our website for your convenience;
- A summary of the Notice Requirement to help you understand it. Click Here For The Document
- A guidelines summary to help you complete the template form (this letter includes the templates). Click Here For The Document
- A letter that the Company can send to its employees with the Notice (sample exchange notice cover letter). Click Here For The Document
These documents are provided so you can make the required notice to all employees. These documents may seem intimidating but the templates and your basic employer identification items are all that are needed to make the required notification.
Please read this information carefully. The Company must take action to fulfill this requirement for all employees, whether health insurance is or is not provided. This provision does not stop after October 1, 2013. The Notice must be provided to all employees hired between October 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013 on the employee’s start date. For employees hired on or after January 1, 2014 the Notice must be provided within 14 days of hire. It may be prudent to include the Exchange Notice in all new hire document packets starting October 1, 2013.
After reading through the information, if you have questions please contact your accountant.
