Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP celebrates 50th year in business

Mankato, MN – Abdo, Eick & Meyers LLP accounting firm celebrated the firm’s 50th Anniversary on July 24 with a party for clients, employees and friends of the firm at the Centennial Student Union ballroom on the campus at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The large crowd enjoyed viewing a running timeline describing the history of the firm with accompanying era music, and 150 rotating past and present pictures throughout the night on the 360 degree digital projection system and Dolby sound system.

The highlight of the evening was program that included comments from the firm’s founder, Joe Abdo, his son Jay, Abdo, Eick & Meyers’ Senior Partner, and the firm’s Managing Partner, Steve McDonald. Joe Abdo reflected on how the firm was started through his hard work and perseverance, and was grateful for how the current leadership has grown the firm to heights, “I am very proud of the firm I started, and the great culture they have developed.” Jay Abdo regaled the crowd with stories of how his father started the firm and was gracious in recognizing the firm as “One that has always provided it’s employees with job security and the opportunity to succeed.” Steve McDonald read a letter from former long-time partner Gerry Eick, and laid out the future path of the firm, “Abdo, Eick & Meyers looks to the future with great expectations. First and foremost as a firm that listens to our clients to assist them in solving their challenges and achieve their goals, providing a great environment for our employees, and being responsible stewards in the communities where we live and work.”

At the conclusion of the program, the audience was invited to continue celebrating the We Listen 50th Anniversary campaign through the remainder of 2013. The campaign website was shared (www.aemlistens.com) with the centerpiece being a video of firm staff sharing the firms People + Process message.
