How To Track the Progress of Your Refund
March 1, 2022
Are you wondering how long you’ll have to wait for a federal tax return? Assuming you e-filed, your tax situation is relatively uncomplicated and your return’s accurate, the IRS reports that your refund will likely arrive in less than 21 calendar days. As of Feb. 18, the IRS had issued more than 22 million refunds worth more than $78 billion (with an average refund of $3,536). If you want to track the IRS’s progress in processing 2021 returns (as well as an earlier backlog), visit its special filing season alerts page: https://bit.ly/3IxVFhJ. You can track your own refund’s progress by using the IRS2Go app or on the IRS site: https://bit.ly/3vw6nS2
