Abdo, Eick & Meyers Senior Partner Receives Top Honor from MSU Mankato

Jay Abdo, senior partner for Abdo, Eick & Meyers LLP, was presented with a Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from Minnesota State Mankato at the university’s alumni awards event, which took place on April 24.
The honor recognizes Abdo for his professional achievements and community benevolence, which have included playing a key role in the growth of Abdo, Eick & Meyers—a certified public accounting and business advisory firm founded in the early 1960s by his father, Joe Abdo—and serving on the boards of several local organizations and nonprofits, including 10 years of service on the advisory board of Minnesota State Mankato’s College of Business. Abdo previously garnered recognition for his successes and contributions as the 2003 recipient of the Edina Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious Business Person of the Year award.
In addition to his 40-plus-year career in accounting, taxation and litigation, Abdo has devoted a great deal of time and resources to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. In 2014, he was named the hospital’s National Volunteer of the Year.
Abdo has maintained his ties to Minnesota State Mankato not only through personal service but also through his firm’s recruiting efforts. Many of the firm’s 140 staff members share Abdo’s alma mater.
