Joe Abdo founded Abdo & Montag, which would later become Abdo, Eick & Meyers, in downtown Mankato in 1963. Since then, we’ve listened to the local community. In doing so, we’ve heard countless positive stories about the area’s chamber of commerce and economic development organization, known today as Greater Mankato Growth.
Our story goes like this…

With a population of nearly 40,000, Mankato is the fourth-largest city in Minnesota outside of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The city is known for its scenic landscapes and pleasant, small-town feel. At Abdo, Eick & Meyers, it’s known as the place it all began—which is why supporting Greater Mankato Growth has always been one of the firm’s top priorities.

Each year, Abdo, Eick & Meyers looks forward to participating in Greater Mankato Growth events, including the annual Business Showcase and the monthly Business Before (and After) Hours events. The firm supports the annual golf tournament, Hall of Fame Awards Banquet, and Campus and Community Fair.

Abdo, Eick & Meyers staff members are involved in the Greater Mankato Young Professionals program and the Greater Mankato Leadership Institute. Several of the firm’s leaders have benefitted from the Leadership Institute, which is the area’s only comprehensive leadership training program with a community focus. The program gives members an opportunity to further their career (or their organization’s mission) while strengthening their connections within the community.

“Being a member of Greater Mankato Growth gives our people the chance give back,” says Managing Partner Steve McDonald. “Mankato is important to us because it’s where our firm began—and it’s a place we strongly believe in.”
