Edina, MN – October 14, 2013 – Abdo, Eick & Meyers LLP accounting firm is pleased to announce that Senior Partner Jay Abdo has raised over $82,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A check for $55,000 was presented on September 18th at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Fall Festival of Hope fundraising gala. This check represented the donations raised to date. In addition to the check, family and guests of Jay pledged an additional $27,350 worth of donations during the event itself.

Abdo has a personal connection with St. Jude, his son Joe was diagnosed with aggressive brain tumors at age 12. Through the help of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Joe was able to beat the tumor and has been in remission ever since. In conjunction with Abdo, Eick & Meyers’ 50th anniversary, Jay Abdo made it a personal mission to raise $50,000 for the hospital.

“I wanted to do something special for our 50th anniversary. After a lot of thought, I decided to take on the task of raising $50,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.” Abdo stated.

Through a personal letter, LinkedIn messages and a web campaign, Abdo was able to raise $56,955 from clients, vendors and friends. The campaign continues through the end of the year. You can make your donation at
